Stress.................

The last twenty-four hours has sure tested my every strength. Started last night with all my last minute prep for my 12 hour day of finals. Studing, writing, practicing all the math I can intake. I am starting to see double so I decide it is time to go to bed at 1:10am. I hit the pillow for about two minutes before one of my one year olds starts screaming and crying with a fever and pain of some sort. I finally get her calmed down and back into bed with meds at about 4:00am. So by this time I know my alarm is going to go off in two hours that I better get to sleep. Once again I lay my head down on my pillow again only for two seconds, I have my 5yr old crying at my bedside her throat and ear hurt. So up at it again with meds and a heating pad with her head on my lap a catch about an hour of sleep. The alarm is beeping and with no choice i am up and at it. My first exam is at 10:00am the second that was done in midland center I rushed back to linwood to take the two sick kids to doctors in bay city. pick up perscriptions for antibiotics one had a sinus infection the other a double ear infection. Back to my house where gram is waiting for the sick kids so I can go to my next exam. I am pretty sure tonight I am making my husband sleep on the couch and it is his turn. He did try to help last night but what sick kid does not want ther mommy.

RESPECT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

I have never met suck a careless teacher in all my life. I have a teacher right now who does not care at all about his job. He is a lawyer and says this job is just for extra money. He does not post grades, he is rude to all his students, Sends students in the middle of class to get him coffee, He is late every day by at least ten minutes. So he was handing out his review sheets and says I don't care what any of your remarks are or even if you don't fallow directions and use pen instead. I will never see them and this is my last class I am teaching. Why in the world would someone who is supposed to help others with their future come in with that poor of an attitude and not care about your job? I am so angry about this class. We did not do one assignment in the class. We where given two quizzes and the midterm and final. So if you are not that great of a test taker you sure are to be a failure. He didn't even teach what was on the test. Thank goodness I read the book like three times and pulled off a B+ or els I would have had to report him to someone. I feel so bad for a few of the other students who where not so lucky. The point is we are supposed to do are part and show up prepared and with respect for our classmates and teacher. He should have showed his class the same respect.

dumbfounded

My nine year old who still believes in Santa walks in the house after just getting off the bus with a weird look and her face. I asked her what was wrong she said well I am confused mom. I played along and said about what? She said I thought you had to be married to have a baby. I said well you don't have to be married but you should be. Why are you asking that weird question? Well mom a girl on my bus is pregnant. Trying not to let  my mouth hit the floor I asked how old the girl was she said thirteen. I then said oh my gosh, McKenzie that is way to young you should at least be out of college with a good job and can support your self. That little girl is still a kid herself, I said I do not want you to be friends with her. be nice and say hi but you are not to be friends with her. After a while went by I was not sure on if what I told her was the right thing. I didn't know that young girl or what had happened to her. So I sat my daughter down again who has no clue even how a baby is made yet. I said kenzie you see how hard it is to have a baby with my taking care of the twins. It is a lot of work. I think everyone should wait until they are ready to take on that kind of responsibility to have a baby. I am shocked and dumbfounded that I had to have that kind of talk with my nine year old little girl. This world sure is a scary place to raise a child/children. I hope my kids learn the right path to take from me. I hope I teach them to value their youth. I hope to teach them to respect themselves and others. I hope I am not a grandma for thirty more years scary stuff.

Run For My Money

I have four kids which everyone by now has read many of times. My older two have been great sleepers from the start, best eaters, nappers, behaved and so kind. The twins are giving me a run for my money in every possible area imaginable. They are constantly sick, they do not sleep threw the night and are up at different times at least all together I am up four to five times a night. They have no fear climb on everything. They give each other so much confidence that when one does something the other has to do it higher or better. I am pretty sure by the time I am thirsty five I will be completely grey haired and have completely lost my mind. Maybe that's why one has already had a broken arm. I am so scared for these two girls to become teenagers they will be tricking us and their teachers. They are so identical that I have mixed them up a time or two. So every one prey that I make it threw the next seventeen years with out losing my mind.

Our Elf Named Fred!

That time a year again, time for family and fun and a lot of food! I love every part or it, but our family has a new tradition we started last year. The Elf on the Shelf the girls named him Fred the Elf. He is an Elf that flies in from the North Pole the day after thanks giving and stays until the day after Christmas. Every night our elf does something different and funny! He hides and does funny things! He has colored with dry erase markers on all the family pictures in the house, put Santa hats and beards on the girls they thought that was funny. He has also painted their noses red in their sleep and left a note telling them to go look in the mirror that they look like Rudolph the red nose reindeer. He has made paper chains and decorated the house with them while everyone was sleeping he is a silly elf with lots of tricks up his sleeve. I think every family should get an elf. The second my girls are acting up all I have to say is "Girls the elf is watching and is going to report back to Santa your misbehavior". They start listening right away after that. So it is good for family fun and to help the kids stay well behaved!

Who needs a BOY!

Whenever my husband and I are in a public place with all four of our daughters we constantly hear oh my you have your hands full and poor dad. Well we may have four girls but we have the best of both worlds! My 9yr old daughter McKenzie loves to go turkey and deer hunting with her daddy! This year she went out for the youth hunt! McKenzie and Alyssa my 5yr old both ride a machine! McKenzie a dirt bike and Alyssa a quad like me! We may be a house full of girls but I am sure we  can give and house full of boys a run for their money. We camp, fish, and do many more things that are stereo types as boy things. We raise our girls to do  anything they like. Now they may ride their quad or dirt bike wearing a tutu but hey its still fun and we enjoy having four girls and would not want it to be any other way. We are a very athletic Family and choose to be who we are not who everyone wants or thinks we should be. Maybe it is just a girl thing!

Routine

BEEP, BEEP, BEEP that's what I hear at 6:00A.M. every morning when my husband gets up for work. Then BEEP, BEEP, BEEP again at 6:30A.M when it is my turn to wake up get the two oldest girls off to school. Then the babies, breakfast, lunch, nap, dinner homework. This is life but when you think about how structured life really is it gets depressing. You definitely can not get lost in the same routine every day. You need to add to this with things that interest you. Routine has been on my mind a lot lately due to my own school schedule only way I can get my own homework done is by the schedule bedtime my kids have. 8:00pm-12 is usually when I finally get my time. I love every minute of a mother but I can also not wait until my life can be a little less structured and more relaxing! This semester is my first back in a long time well worth all the stress and structure!

Why the wait lists?????

So as I finally get to the excited point of my college career where I see the light at the end of the tunnel. I get smacked in the face with the last thing I wanted to hear. With only one semester left (Winter 2014) I decided to go meet with a guidance councilor to make sure I was in all the right courses and that I can validate for clinicals, He says "yes mam you sure can"! I was filled with excitement! I was so close I could taste it! But then he says well we take 18 students every fall for the radiology department and currently we have 64 validated. WOW so my dreams seemed to be crushed in an instant. So today I decided to look around at other colleges well non in the area have radiology. So my next plan will be to go to school for my minor which is going to be phlebotomy to get me into a hospital so I can be ready to transfer when I get my major I will have already have my foot in the door! Most places hire within first so that's my goal for now. I guess you should always have a back up plan!

Sick Sick SIck Sick kids equals one tired mama..........................................................

I am one how who does not need a lot of sleep to function on a day to day basis. However the last two nights have been the worst two nights of my life. I was okay with having two sick kids, I was out numbered but I still had two arms for the two sick ones. Then two became three and then three became four sick kids. Two have double ear infections we need to see a specialist for tubes. The third has strep for the 100th time and need to also go to an ear nose throat specialist for tonsils and adenoids out. The fourth has croup and is the worst at night. She has coughing spells where the only place she stops is sitting in the cold air out side for a few minutes. So the last two night I have had a total of four hours of sleep. I am pretty sure I should change my profession to a pediatrician. I think I may soon be an expert on any sickness know. I also my want to open my own pharmacy seems I am going threw Tylenol, Motrin, and antibiotics like crazy. Fingers crossed that my run down brain and body don't get sick. I need the little time I do have to function to do my school work! Today's post was more of a tantrum than a thought or an opinion. So thanks for listening. Also for all you youngsters finish school, get a career then have children!

That time of year again!

"So it is that time of year again I don't want you to have another animal when I get home" This was the comment my husband made on Friday before he headed for deer camp with the guys. Yes my track record for the last three or four years have been in a routine of when he is gone I decide I am lonely and go get myself a new pet. One year was a kitten, the next a bunny, yes I even have brought home a few baby chickens. So this year since he had actually made a statement not to get any I had to go bigger! I am picking up my puppy tomorrow before he gets home from deer camp! All my girls are way excited as am I. I can not wait to see my husbands face when he walks in and I pull this tiny tea cup Yorkie named buddy from my sweat shirt pocket! buddy only weighs 1lb 7oz. My husband tries to be a tough guy but I can picture the smile on his face when he sees this little guy! Let this also be a lesson for all you guy readers. If you tell a women what not to do, she is going to do it even more now that you told her not too!

What to do?

I have been faced with a very hard decision. I have a Thursday class which falls on Halloween and I have four little girls who I do not want to miss trick-or -treating. The two younger ones can finally dress up and understand they get candy in their buckets. What mom wants to miss that mile stone in their child's life. Not his mama, I was all for missing one class until the teacher announced that was the night of our midterm which is 16% of our grade. I think I am going to go crazy and have no clue on how I can do both. I feel as if I am put in the worst spot. I need any suggestions on what to do. I have left my teacher an email but he has children of his own so I am thinking it must not bother him that he misses his children trick or treating. when someone in the class brought up that it was Halloween, his only comment was it is up to you to prioritize your life. I am at a lost for words and still am. I am praying for a miracle and that the teacher realizes he should just move the exam due to half the class not being in attendance for the exam.

One Day at a TIME

Death has been on my mind as it is all around lately. Friends of ours have lost their four month old baby boy, He past away from S.I.D.S. This is one of the worst thing to endure as a mother. Not only the lost of your child but now not knowing why he woke up normal and was all happy and healthy.  Then  drop him off at daycare then to get the call he had passed away for no reason just went to sleep and never to wake up again. The thought of never holding one of my children again kills me. My heart is broken for this family. Just four days later another friend lost her mother of a heart attack. Her mother was healthy and active never had a problem with her heart a day in her life. She walked into work talkative and with a smile but just fell over and died within minutes. My point to this thought is to never take a single thing for granted. Love with all your heart and make sure you say it as much as possible. Life is a gift. Live like today may be your last for you never really know. I know this week I have hugged and kissed my kids and appreciated the small things they do that make me smile that much more.

The Breaking Point.......

I consider myself a strong person but when it comes to my children my heart is as soft as a down filled pillow. We decided to have a fun filled family day at Valley Plaza family Entertainment Center.
All was going great we rode the bumper cars, bowled, laser tag, putt putt golf and then we where in then arcade having a wonderful time! When all the sudden I heard a scream from my fifteen month old Jillian. My aunt said she sat her on a arcade game to watch  and she fell off. My heart sank but then she fell asleep in my arms so figured she was ok about twenty minutes later I realized she was favoring her left arm. So I lifted up her long sleeve shirt and was shocked at the sight. Her arm which was normally straight was bent like a rainbow. Once again my heart sank into my stomach and I was about into tears but new I had to be strong for her. To the Emergency Room we went. Well they put a cast on it and then I was ok until we had to go to the orthopedic surgeon on Monday. Monday came and the surgery was scary they had to put my little lady to sleep with I.Vs and all. I cried like a baby for her. She was stronger than her mama that's for sure. She is now rocking a hot pink cast for the next four weeks. I now know it is ok to be strong but also ok to be scared and weak when it comes to your kids.

One day CLOSER!

The alarm went off at 6:00am to start a new day! This is the routine at my house. I get up get my oldest two daughters up for school and on the bus at 7:15. I then get the twins up and around. Yes that is a total of four daughters! My 5yr old Alyssa is in kindergarten this year and is having a hard time with leaving me. My oldest daughter continues to ask me why she has to get good grades. So I took the leap that I have always wanted to today! I started school at the age of 30. I wanted to show my kids what good grades and an education will get them. So I am determined to be a dedicated student and succeed not only for me but for my beautiful smart little girls. I want them to know that if you put your mind to something and want it bad enough it is never out of their reach. I want them all to know that life is not easy and you need to be dedicated to be successful. That is why you have to attend school and get good grades. What a better way to teach them then by going to school with them, by doing homework with them, I am very excited about this journey! I hope this is a life lesson for my family and will lead to wonderful things for us. So today I am one day closer to my goal and at teaching my girls the values of life. This may have been just one day to some but this is my one day closer to my goal and dream. So this day is a day that I will forever remember for I am one day closer!
